oil pickup in the oil pan
Hi..Does anyone know where the oil pickup is in the oil pan? I have a 99 Honda Civic SE.
I have a dent on my oil pan and I'm not sure if I should change it. If it doesn't effect the oil pick up then I'm not going to change it but I need to know where the oil pickup is located in the oil pan

Re: oil pickup in the oil pan (Otherguy)
It's a civic ex special edition(SE). The dent is in front (by the radiator) on the side of the oil pan (looks like punched in), on the driver's side. Is it serious? I wish I had a camera so I can show.

dumbass
its probally a good idea to change it if the dent is deep if not dont worry I have a dented pan and my oil pressure is always good so I guess it just depends on the pan and where the dent is.

I just did the same thing. When I bought the new pan the guy threw in the oil pump pickup.
I've seen a few Civic and Accord SE's. They're usually a dealer badge package and sometimes they throw in an upgraded stereo or something like that.

Re: oil pickup in the oil pan (PinoyxEJ6)
he is right
and it can be very serious
because a dent may damage the oil pickup and cause for not sucking up oil to ur motor
I recommand u change it asap.
my friend had the same problem and just ignore the oil pickup part.
end up 2 of his rod bearings toasted.

Hey..Can you circle on that picture where the oil pickup/pump is located. I'm not really familiar with engine's internal parts.
