Because I can vent it other places and I don't need the black box there so why not block it

Why not leave it be and spend the money elsewhere? It's not going to hurt your motor...or you can do as grumblemarc did and get a fitting that replaces the black box - this will give you a better vent than gutting your PCV valve. I just don't understand why you'd block off the black box; it vents the crankcase directly as opposed to the valve cover and would only help you.
