Default OEM or aftermarket shock absorbers?

I want to replace the front shocks on my stock 97 DX. I would prefer to retain a stock ride, but Majestic Honda wants $93 per shock.

Is there a good aftermarket shock that would preserve the stock ride for less money?

Or should I buy the OEM shocks?

Buy OEM shocks. My '94 Sedan still has the original shocks and springs all around with 352,000 on it and they aren't leaking and work fine. My '93 Si hatch has fairly new monroe shocks and springs on it and they work like crap, they came on the car when I got it, guy said they had been recently replaced.

Very impressive. Honda may pay to have you make a commercial for them.

I probably should have mentioned thats 352,000kms, but still thats over 211,000 miles, while we're on the subject, I also got around 300,000kms out of the lower balljoints, upper balljoints and tie rod ends are still original and good as new. I also ran front rotors for at least 10 years (I ran them well past what most people would call acceptable though, they weren't warped though, just badly rusted in the webbing and around the edges.)
