So I get ready to install my OBX fuel pressure regulator on my 98 civic ex and I realize it came with no instructions. Not only that, but OBX does not have the instructions on their website. I emailed them but they haven't replied yet. I was just wondering if anyone has the instructions or could do a little mini write up on how to install this thing. Thanks guys.

and I already searched and all i got was an installation of a b&m fpr on an integra.

well I've read through that one and it doesnt even look close to the obx unit. gah i wish they had included some instructions.

bump for some help for me. the OBX unit is not like the vortech or b&m fpr.

here is the vortech fpr unit:

As you can see, they are not similiar. I don't think that the OBX utilizes the stock fpr like the Vortech fpr does. I just want some clear instructions.

fuel in, fuel out, and vaccum.

my guess is that the bottom barb is for fuel OUT, the smaller side one is for vac.

the allen slot on the top is for adjustment.

yea i figured that much out, but how am i supposed to bolt it to the fuel rail? i just dont want to be leaking fuel everywhere.

Definetely doesn't look to utilize the stock FPR. Top side post looks like vacuum, bottom is Fuel in, and the top screw is where you adjust pressure....thats how it looks to me. I can't see where you mount it though....

I'm not sure, it seems OBX doesnt include instructions with their stuff, doesn't reply to emails, and doesn't post instructions on their website.

it wont mount directly to your stock fuel rail b/c its an universal application....

The AEM is a direct replacement for the stcock fuel pressure regulator. The OBX unit is also available here in Germany. I have seen people mounting it directly to the fire wall You have to remove your stock regulator. I take a look if I can find some pictures.

the vortech fpr you have to cut your stock one in half and replace the top stock half with the vortech half.

i have installed the obx unit on a gsr , its faily simple

this is how its done

the bottom hose is for the fuel return, the top side is for vacum and you cant see the other barb fitting because its on the side side of the guage and thats where fuel goes in, it comes with a L bracket that screws onto the FPR and u mount it where u want, the old FPR is removed and a custom plate with a barb fitting is connected to it, u mount this plate on the stock location and then run a hose from there to the fuel in on the FPR
pretty simple, works great

alrighty, I finally got around to installing my FPR, but what should I set it at? after I installed it I just adjusted it until the engine ran smoothly and its at just under 30 psi. after I drove it around for about 5 min it was at just under 40. so the question is what should I set it at while its at a warm idle? thanks guys

warm...cold...overheated....doesn't matter.

With the vacuum line disconnected from the regulator and pinched off, should read 41-48 psi.

At idle with the vacuum line connected, 28-36 psi.

Okay here is how you install it. You remove your stock regulator, (save the rubber seal.), then there should be a plate that came in the kit. Put the seal on the bootom of that. bolt it up. Take some of the supplied hose and attach it to the plate and then the other to the regulator.(the side.) then there should be a peice that is used to connect 2 lines together, get that and connect it to the stock fuel return line, and then the other end goes to another peice of hose (in the kit) and attaches to the bottom of the regulator. Then hook up the vacum line. Start the car, check for leaks. Also the peice that connects the two hoses together be real carefull when using this, cause if you screw up then you will have to start cutting hoses to get that peice out. if you have any questions let me know.

well after installing it and driving around all day for about 5 or 6 hours, it start leaking at the plate that bolts to the fuel rail. the problem with the plate is that the raised lip around the hole does not fit down inside the little hole on the fuel rail. eventually, after a couple of hours, we got it to seal temporarily so I could drive it home. well this morning in an attempt for find a permanent solution, I'm still having trouble getting it to seal. what did everyone else do to get this stupid thing to work?

if i'm not correct you might have used the wrong plate because i know that 2 different plates come with it and you have to see which one best fits. also you have to make sure the hole directly lines up. i just helped my friend install an OBX fuel pressure regualtor on his car today and come to find out there was no ******* instructions. these days they give instructions to install batteries in a remote control but they can't give you instructions for a fuel pressure regulator.

the first time i installed it, it worked great no problems, i just made sure the surface was clean on both sides and had a good o ring and centered up both holes and tightend down the 2 bolts real good, if ur having problems u can tap the hole to thread it and screw in the fitting, works the same way as the flange
