OBD2A and OBD2B VTEC bypass trick to pass emmisions
I thought I was screwed for passing emmisions. I've got a jdm b20b in my 99ek hatch. Thought I could get it all hooked up without throwing a check code, but they dont make an ECU thats non-vtec, 5spd, and has a 2 wire IACV. My P2E kept throwing an IACV code.
My friend let me borrow his P2P which is VTEC, but I threw a vtec pressure switch code. I tried the OBD1 VTEC pressure switch wire to VTEC solonoid wire hack but it didnt work.
So that same friend (thanks Orlando) let me borrow his VTEC pressure switch. I'm running a 00 EX engine harness so the plugs are there. I plugged in his pressure switch and just left it hanging. WORKED LIKE A CHARM! No code.
I'm also running the knock sensor hack with the piezo transducers. I passed my emmision test with flying colors!!! Now its back to my socketed P05 with my b20 rom. WOOHOO

i'm sure mine was a rare case, but I thought i'd just share that info incase anyone else was having trouble passing emmisions with a similar setup. The P2P was the only ECU i could use, the other non-vtec 5speed dohc have immobilizers.
I guess the vtec pressure switch doesnt care how much oil pressure it sees, it just needed to see the sensor.
The engine ran very well. Here are my readings.
99 Hatch
JDM B20B
EBAY 4-1 2.5" Header
Magnaflow 2.5" Hi-Flow Cat
2nd O2 Sensor wired in (that was a bitch since my 00 ex harness only had one o2 plug)
Ebay 2.5" N1 exhaust
P2P ECU
HC PPM(Hydrocarbon Parts Per Million)
61 out of a 188 limit
CO% (Carbon Monoxide Percentage)
0.12 out of a 1.00 limit
NOX PPM (Nitro...mono...oxide? Parts Per Million)
169 out of a 2188 limit
So as you can see, it did pretty damn well. These are CT limits, i'm sure Cali is a little different. Anyone know those limits?

Yeah, from what I understand, it only sends a signal when it reads a pressure, and no other time. Good right up. Now if I could just find a way around my emissions, lol

Re: (sicones)
I was running out of time, and only had the OBD2B>OBD1 jumper harness. Didnt have time or money to waste on another. Here in CT you get 10 days from when you get your temp tag. After that, your SOL.
