OBD1 GSR into OBD2b civic HX (99 EK)
I have searched and searched on specifics to this swap. I have managed to rewire the distributor by matching the OBD1 / OBD2B connectors and pinswapping them as their the same wiring pattern. I have questions however regarding some wiring..
1) top of JDM OBD1 GSR intake has a round plug behind injectors, stock civic HX has a square plug into some sort of sensor that has coolant lines connected to it.
2)HX has a plug going into the air intake piping which the GSR harness does not have.. (im assuming this sensor is on the intake somewhere instead)
3) im not aware of a d series vtec having a knock sensor? I read the GSR wont have a crack angle sensor (not to be confused with cam angle sensor) and the HX does have this (later incorperated in obd2 gsr oil pumps?). I just need to know how to wire the knock sensor!!!!
i converted the alternator to the odb2 plug and got that to fit, i also extended vtec wiring from stock harness..
if someone can please just explain the wiring for an obd1 JDM GSR into 99 civic HX (vtec), i have an obd2b to obd1 jumper harness with a chipped obd1 ecu. I have innovative mounts and new axles so i just need wiring info!
please help and thank you!

Re: OBD1 GSR into OBD2b civic HX (99 EK)
1) Top plug on intake probably IAT sensor ( intake temperature , wich is on the intake tube on your HX likely)
2)the GSR probably has the IAT sensor on the manifold , read above
3)the HX does have a knock sensor, all the D series obd2 Vtec motors have a knock sensor.
You wont use the CKF sensor, ( in the oil pump ) with the obd1.
If you are interested in wiring, check the hybrid section there is a post about installing an obd1 motor into an obd2 car.
