Default O2 Sensor Extension

Howdy,

I have a quick question. I just recently received an exhaust mani from a 97 Civic Ex from a friend of mine and want to put it in my 95 delSol s. The only problem is that the O2 sensor is too short to reach the bung. I really don't want to mess with the wiring, just wondering how long of an extension I would need to get this thing to work. I don't know if 12.5 is gonna be long enough or if 32 is gonna be too long.

Thanks in advance

Get a tape measure or a string. Find the distance between your bung and the plug for the O2 sensor.

meh. if he doesn't feel confident, then he shouldnt do it. O2 sensor wires are stainless. They're harder to solder.

On the other hand, OP....you just did a motor swap. Extending wires takes....5 mins? lol...put the beer down. Pick up the soldering iron of justice.

This seems like the obvious solution rather than the rest of us trying to guess the proper length.

Do not cut and splice 02 sensor wires.. it will cause bad resistance which will cause a stumbling idle !
This is usually the cause for people's "rough idles".

Just buy an extension harness.

I had no luck cutting mine and splicing. I have a rsx-s and have a strupt header needed my primary o2 and secondary u2 extended. Those wires were stainless and I used copper. My o2 does not work.

Anyone know how long a Bosch o replacement one is, or is there a different 4 wire o2 sensor that can be used?

I make them, $25 shipped (rywire is $32 shipped) in any length you want (rywire only does 33"). Just giving another option.

why not just cut the wire loom back and pull the wires back toward the rear of the car where it would work... ive done this on many DX harnesses. no extention harness or cutting and splicing needed... retape your loom and wires up when ur done...0$
