if you have one 02 sensor, it want throw a code even with no cat.
if you have 2 o2 sensors and the second stands after the stock cat make sure the second 02 will be placed after the new cat, so you won't have ecu codes...

As long as the new cat works, the O2 and ECU don't care/won't notice a difference.
You'll need to extend the secondary O2 sensor wires, though.
