Just like what the title says, I need help installing cam gears? I don't know how....Anybody countered cams gears? Help needed...Thnxxxx

Question? Will I have a problems once I have the cam gears on... Cause if thats the case, Im pretty much sure im gonna sell'em..... But if not, then great! Just today I bought my self a Brand new greddy exhaust, Aem cold air intake and a set of og rims with new neo gen tires. I wanna keep the cam gears but im frighten something might go wrong with the engine like loss of power or rough idle.... Need advise, Should I keep the cam gears or sell'em?

If you don't plan to actually tune the adjustable cam sprockets on a dyno, I wouldn't bother installing them.

Say I do plan to tune, would i have to get a different ecu? What other up grades are mandatory to install cam gears in order to make use for it?

I agree. No sense in throwing them on if they're not going to be used.

I'm not sure what you use adjustable cam gears for, but I've seen them used a lot when people get their heads milled or their blocks decked (machine work) to adjust for the discrepancy of "in between" teeth so the timing belt fits right. I've never seen them used in an effective manner in any other way. I've seen the cheaper ones slip and bend a few valves though.

PS:
If you don't know how to install them I'm going to assume you also don't know how to set the timing and recommend that you take it to a shop.

K since im not getting my heads milled or their blocks decked can I still use the cam gears for looks.... I know its stupid and useless but blahhh whatever. Is it possible I can damage the engine with the cam gears on? By the way, the cam gears I got are Tru I believe....I got them as a gift.

Yeah, you can use them for looks, unfortunately that's what the majority of people that have them use them for.

On teh flipside, I've heard of them damaging engines by slipping and bending valves, but never seen it. I'd sell 'em and make a quick buck, you can buy something more efficient for that $. Or pocket it for your next hot date or a couple of 6 packs or something.

Some are designed with locking pins so that slipping is not a issue. And indeed they're only worth the money to most people for their looks. For performance they're used to adjust the powerband by affecting valve timing and overlap. However, they're typically used for all-out naturally aspirated motors where every last ounce of power is needed (you usually don't get more than a few extra whp even when tuned right). But for the money you could make a lot more power with a handful of little parts instead.
