no noobs, surge and ecu
this saturday i swapped my 99' y7 into my 94 ej2. i changed the alternator, throttlebody, and distributor, oh and the y8 manifold . I used my stock obd1 harness and Im throwing No CEL light (damn im good) but for some reason it is Surging. in the back of my mind it's my Idle Air Control valve. my timing is advaced. (distributor forward) which is giving it a nice idle and good pull, do you think its the ecu that can be doing this?. also what ecu should i run for this y7, im thinking about an obd1 ls ecu would do fine? ? ?
appreciate it.
appreciate it.

Have you let the car fully warm up yet? It may FITv related (if you have that hooked up, some people bypass it). It basically controls Idle for cold starts.

Re: (97Ej6mike)
actually when i first start it for about a minuite it will run fine. then it starts surging. and whats weird is when i cut on my lights its more of a longer surge instead of short drops

I'd def check IACV then, The IACV senses loads like a/c compressor and alternator pull, when my IACV went, when I would hit my a/c on the surges would get longer as well
