Spoon Magnetic Drain Plugs, will longer one fit in tranny?
I have a set of the magnetic plugs, with one magnet about an inch long and the other like a quarter of an inch. Will the long one fit in the tranny without interfering with anything? I have a lot of metallic sludge in the tranny and I'd like to try and get some of it out without disassembling the tranny.

I would think the shorter one would go in the tranny and the longer one would go in the motor. As for whether or not you can put the longer one in the tranny I am not sure. Thinking about what the tranny looks like inside you might be able to.

yeah thats how I had it, the shorter one in the tranny, I just wanted to make sure if I put the longer one in it wouldn't get hit by a gear or the shift arm.

DONT buy spoon..waste of money IMO....Go to autozone, they sell magnetic drain plugs that are like 2 bucks a piece and they fit in the tranny and oil pan.

the following is for a B-series tranny....
the longer one hits something in the tranny to the point of not being able to even start the threads. I'm guessing based on feel it was the case that it was hitting.

I was just saying..I dont think u'll have a problem putting the longer one in the tranny, i think the drain hole is so far down its away from any moving parts. Get something like a hose and stick in the drain hole and see how far u can stick it in there(heh) without hitting anything.
