how much of it are you trying to remove? the a/c evap. housing needs to come out first, has one wire connector to unplug, a drain to pull out at the base of the firewall, and 4 or 5 10mm bolts holding it in. you'll need to have freon vaccumed down and the high sid and low side hoses pulled loose at the firewall under the battery tray. that should come right out then.

then, honestly, i can't remember the last time i took any of the other parts out so i don't remember how they are secured. just give it a thurough look with a flashlight and then try to work it out of there.

There are only two screws holding it in up front, but there are six screws (three on each side) in that area. Make sure you took the right front screws out. There is one screw in the back... the fan speed plug is pretty simple to disconnect, the green plug is a bit more difficult. I can't recall how to get it undone exactly, maybe somebody else can pick that up... or if you can get to where you can see it, which involves removing the radio, ashtray, etc... Three screws, the cable, and the wiring, and it should slide right out.

You need to unplug the harness from it so it can slide out freely

Which is a bitch and a half just so you know.

AT OP:
Unplugging the harness is a total pain in the ***. The way I do it is use a micro-flathead screwdriver to press down on the snap holder thinggy and then just pull it out.

You'll see as soon as you have the bezel out how much of a pain in the *** it is.

2 screws above the cluster (just put ur head to the cluster, and look up) and one behind the hazard light switch. The bezel will remove from there, it has a lot of clips, try not to break any, though if you do it's not the end of the world (a lot of people break all of them, the bezel will still fit back in just fine (and stay in)).

So when u get the bezel out, take the radio out too, this will give you access from the top and bottom. Once the radio is out (assuming you took the column under the radio out as well) there's 2 screws if u look up (above the cup holder) that hold the climate control it, have to unscrew them...then unplug the wires and disconnect the cable for the temperature control.

It's a pain in the ***, only thing you can do is try not to get frustrated at it, I bent the cable on mine so I can't go all the way to cold now (still have to fix it ).

Well, you don't have to disconnect the harness from the climate control itself. If I remember correctly, you can unplug midway down the dash. You just need to remove the bolt at the bottom (and behind) of the ashtray so you can pull the dash away towards you. This is so the plug can squeeze between the dash frame and the heater core.

There is a harness that is mount it behind that cener console. Remove the console and you should see the harness near the bottom. Unplug that and another plug behind the stereo. (If you don't understand what I am telling you then just follow the harness I told you to unplug and you should find it.) That is with the all the screws off on the bottow of the climate control. Unplug the temp cable and everything should just slide out with the harness and the temp cable. I think this is alot easier then trying to unplug that greeen plug in the back of the climate control.

Oh, yeah, there's two ways of doing it. Forgot about that. That's the easier way.

I did it by disconnecting it from the climate control because I didn't know about the other plug.
