Does anybody have any clues as to why my car will not shut off when I turn the key off? I have tried a brand new ignition switch (key switch to harness part that plugs into fuse box) and a new main relay to no avail. One I turn the key on(don't even have to start the car) the ignition wire to the main relay stays hot and injectors stay on even after I have turned the key off and removed it from the ignition. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried replacing the ignition lock cylinder?

Do you have ANYTHING in the car that it didn't roll off the assembly line with, especially electrical? Does it eventually turn itself off? Is this a recently purchased car?

Ignition lock cylinder was replaced too.
As far as mods i just put an ls v in it. Wired in a resistor box to accomodate my precision 1000's once I go boost, and have an obd1 dizzy that is jumpered to the obd2 harness via a jumper harness. And it is jumpered to an obd1 p28 ecu, both of the jumper harnesses being Zerg jumpers.

And it is a 98 civic hx. Had a d16y8 in it previously with no issues whatsoever pertaining to this. Just swapped it out because I wanted more power and I had a spare motor ready to go.

The only aftermarket electrical wise is a stereo and an amp/subs that were in it before the swap was done giving me no issues at all.

Starter stuck "out?? Is the car making a grinding noise? My roommates integra wouldn't shut off. Within 5 min the starter began smoking and I was able to shut the car off. It would barely start afterwards.

Have you checked the spoiler? Sometimes that has so much downforce the car won't turn off. That happened to me so I just took the spoiler off and was good to go.

I had a similar issue once too, but the problem was that I had a few performance manufacturer stickers on the car. Once I removed those I lost quite a bit of horse power, but the car shut off. For good!

Starter is fine.
And unfortunately I don't have a spoiler so I don't think that is my issue lol
And I'm keeping the stickers because I need the power lol

I want to say its something to do with your resistor box. Did you put the 1000ccs on yet?

There has to be a direct short in the wiring is what I can think of. Try following the ignition wires and try to find bare wires or stuff like that good luck trying to find the problem

The 1000cc's aren't in yet. They are obd0 ls injectors for now.
I guess that is my next step, checking ignition wires all the way through. I was thinking there could be a relay between the ignition switch and main relay that sticks once the key is turned in but nobody seems to know if there is one. So I'm probably gonna have to get to the bottom of this one wire at a time. Thanks for the actual help and not posting spoiler comments like the cool guy up above...
