Mystery EG Civic Cluster: 9200RPM redline, 240km/h, black face
Any ideas which vehicle / which market this cluster could be from? Honestly, I think I know 5G Civics pretty well but this one has me stumped.
Black face, 240km/h speedo (no inner mph markings), 9200RPM redline, white needles. I also see a Cat Converter overheating indicator light (top left).
What motor would that have even been (circa 1992-95) that has a redline that high?
Maybe it's a one-off replica but it's damn good.

The only redline of 9200 I found for Honda was the S2000. Doubt the guage itself would fit into the 5G cluster....
I would guess that was a custom job for a custom setup.

Ah I did not know that. Being that it has kmh only on the speedo, wouldn't that make it a JDM or EDM cluster?
This doesn't seem to have an extra hash on the speedo for the 250 mark, but do I spy the Nissin "NS" logo on the speedo?

Well, lots of other markets use km/h, beyond JDM and EDM. Basically, every country Hondas were sold in except USA and UK. Only Canada has large km/h and inner mph. Well, maybe Mexico, but I've never seen an MDM Civic.

With black faces, it's funny how it has the hot exhaust and funny (O) parking brake indicator light like JDM clusters.
I'm not sure if Spoon ever messed with the 5G or if they even existed at the time. EDIT: Yes they were around, totally forgot.
In for an answer to this mystery!

Note though how on the Spoon cluster the location of the km\h notations are different. Ie 180 is directly across from 0.

That particular Spoon cluster went for $1100 a few years ago. But I've seen them go as cheap as $500. ICB Motorsports has had at least one of them before. I've never seen that black one anywhere though, the tach makes it particularly desirable.

^^That's a pricey cluster, but I bet spoon didn't make too many for the 5g. Damn, I want that mystery one!!

that is pretty cool. I have a JDM cluster in my EH2, but it doesn't have the hot catylic converter light. But the cluster in my EG6 does. But unfortunately the sensor has been cut off the wiring for it My RHD Rx7 had the same light, and also the same sensor missing. Wonder if Japan keeps the sensors lol or just coincidence
