My car wont read P codes
I went to autozone to use their p code scanner. I plugged it into the port right where the indash fuses are. Press read code and it keeps coming out to error. Why? I have a 97 civic hatch cx with a jdm gsr swap obd2. I manualy check the flash engine lights and it came out to one code. CEL 41 but the scanner wont read p codes. does anyone have a similar problem? or does this happen with swaps?

You're getting power to the scanner, otherwise it wouldn't turn on. I know there's a fuse under the hood too, but I'm not sure if the CEL would even light without that fuse.
Check the FAQ for the fuse diagram sheet and explanation if you don't know which fuse it is.
This does not happen with swaps btw.
If this doesn't help, at least perhaps bumping the thread will.

no I believe its a usdm p72 ecu because the last digits starts with an alphabet.

I did the swap myself.. I used the stock ek harness non vtec from d16y7. custom wired and hooked up knocksensors, Iab, Iacv, vtec solenoid, etc etc.. hrmm I only have 1 code.. its CEL 41. I tried changing the primary o2 sensor today and still get the same code. should I just bring my car to a shop? how much will it cost?
