ok i have a 98 civic dx and it statrs making a whistling noise at a certain poin in the gas, like i push the gas down a certain amount and it starts whistling and if i go beyond the point where it starts whistling it stops. idk if anyone has an idea about this or not but i though t i would ask

You got a CAI system on it? If you got the stock airbox, there is prolly a crack/leak somewhere where air is getting in causing a whistle sound.

all hondas do it your fine

at a certain point when the throttle is open it will whistle. If you have an intake you will hear it louder

it could also be the injectors.

i have an AEM short ram

wouldnt a leak cause it to whistle all the time?

100% normal. Its the air going past the throttle plate. Have heard this on a y7, and two y8 motors. They say its a D series thing. Coulc be the resonate frequency of that size TB. I have a short ram intake, its more prominent, however with the motor totally stock, you can still notice.

I have a b16 and mine does it. i noticed it more after i put the CAI in. It's all good.

I noticed that my d16 did the same thing but only on very, very cold days. when i took it to my local dealership and explained that i was annoyed with it they "lubed" the belts and i havent heard it since.

my GSR did it right after installing an apex'i filter. I switched to AEM short ram, and it still did it.

Yeah my friend has a Dx with a Ractive short Ram and it makes that same niose you are talking about, we have tried to fix it but couldn't find anyway.

It just has something to with the design of the throttle body or something. Don't worry about it

Hello I bought a 94 honda accord 5spd manual transmission i replaced the breakpads and got emissions done but today on my way to school i was going 55-60 in 5th gear and i hear a small whistling noise coming from the back i always hear it and its super annoying does anyone know what it might be ??

Wonder if the dizzy is going **** up? Had a similar issue on mine that started out sounding like a cricket chirp and got worse. Replaced distributor and Presto, no more problem.
