Did the pointer on the lower timing belt cover align perfectly with the red mark (middle in group of three) on the crank pulley?

I'm lost I been messing with the timing, and now it seem like it's all F*ck up! I'm confuse, but here's what I got when the car run, I check it with the timing gun, it's at the Red mark, in between the 3 mark which is the red mark I believe, and while the car is off, I check and it's at the white mark, TDC... is this right or am I way off? thanks

Both the ignition timing and mechanical timing are fine. The red mark is for the ignition timing whereas the white mark is for the mechanical timing.

Well now that the timing is right, the car isn't laggy anymore, but now the car is joking when your holding on the speed limit at any speed, on the hwy or in the city, why is that? Sorry I know I ask for to much help but thanks, for your time.

Is it throwing any CEL codes? Are any dash warning lights on while driving?

Have you recently replace the fuel filter? You might also want to do a Seafoam engine treatment.

hey man, i'm having the same problem too. though, i don't think mine is as severe. but i'm just **** about my cars and always need them to be running perfect.

my car does feel like it's hesitating at about 10% throttle under 2000rpms. i've done all my ignition components and still the same thing. so this is leading me to believe that the hesitation problem is fuel related. like you, i bought my car and let it sat for a year too. not good!

this weekend, i'm going to get a bottle of seafoam and run it through the car. after that, replace my fuel filter. i hope to resolve this slight hesitation problem i'm having as well.

IIRC, there *is* a noticeable lag somewhere in the mid-RPMs for the VX engine. This is due to entry/exit from lean burn mode. You'll find more information on this topic on boards that specialize in fuel economy vs. HT which is more for go-fast gear-heads. Of course, what you have might be abnormal, too - but just FYI that you can't get rid of it completely ... it's by design.

EDIT: If it is a problem, looks like ecomodder.com might have a few clues: http://www.google.com/search?q=civic...ient=firefox-a
