Default My 92 Civic VX is having problem need help please,.

I post it up earlier about having problem with my 92 hatch, now the car doesn't die when it come to a stop, at a stop sign. But when I try accelerate it keep jumping/hopping like the cars gonna die, like there's not enough power or something and not just that, when I shift it to 2nd gear it feels like it's lagging and weak, having trouble picking up... doesn't have any problem starting the car up and let it set there,... What I did so far is, Changing all new Gasoline filter, 4 spark plug, disturber cap, and rotor, Someone please help... thanks for your time, and for reading this...

How long have you had the car for?
Has the car had any recent work done to it?
Have you done a compression test?
As much back ground info you can provide, the more help we can give.

For about a year now,... but it's been setting over winter, ever sense I bought the car, I haven't done anything to it, beside what I wrote... I haven't try the compression test... but I will try that, and the motor itself is stock VX and it looks like the owner didn't really took care of it, so yeah... the miles on the car is about 135,000 miles right now. I don't wanna spent to much on change part and replacing things that doesn't need to be change or replace,... Thanks for your reply.

You may also want to replace the plug wires.

Also check the mechanical timing. The timing belt may have skipped a tooth:

That's a problem in the circuit for one of the distributor sensors. Generally, the fix is to replace the distributor housing, but first check whether the sensor has 350-700 Ohms resistance and whether the two CYP wires have an open or short.

what is 9 CYP - cylinder sensor ? is there any pictures I can see? it's still doing what it's doing,... and the check light engine doesn't come on right away, untill you drive the car for like 8 to 10mins, then when the check light engine comes on it runs fine, it doesn't hop or jump. it's kinda wired, help... thanks for your time...

You will need to buy or borrow an inexpensive low impedance digital multimeter (cost $10-25). First test the resistance of the CYP sensor. If it's out of spec, replace the distributor housing:

Its sounds like you need, a new distributor. That's the only way to get rid of the CEL.

Replacing the distributor will fix the problem if the sensor itself is bad. If the problem is one of the two wires or even the ECU, he'll be buying more parts. Do the troubleshooting and save money.

You need to do some electrical troubleshooting to KNOW what the problem is. Otherwise, you are guessing and may end up replacing parts at random ($$$).

Did you jump the service connector and adjust the ignition timing to spec with a timing gun after replacing the distributor?
