Must...stop...exhaust rattles...HELP!
I installed my 2.5" cat-back exhaust setup (Tsudo mid-pipe and thermal 2.5" axle-back section) and I have some TERRIBLE exhaust rattles, both at idle and when driving through certain RPM ranges.
What do you recommend I do to stop these exhaust rattles? The exhaust is installed properly, but it's hitting the gas tank heat shield and one of the hangers for the mid-pipe is hitting some metal line behind the rear tire and rubbing badly. Would exhaust wrap work? A shitload of bending? Ideas?

Get some adjustable rubber hangers or take it to a shop. They'll usually fix that up real quick with no charge.

you simply must free the exhaust from these things to do it correctly. any other way is a quick fix and wont really work. so without seeing your car i can't help that much.

where is the rattle coming from? Rear, axle, near cat?
If it's near the cat, it might be the cat heat shield, probably needs tightening. This happened to a friend of mine. B/c this sounds like her problem and the noise was pretty bad. Check it out.

If its coming from the back it might be the same thing that happened on my 93, the pipe is larger around, so either in front of or behind the axle its hitting the brake line thats what happened to mine, i took the exhaust off and hit it with a ox-sed torch and re-shaped the pipe about an inch over so it wouldent hit....hard to do but might be your problem......

I basically fixed it...there were two rattles, one coming from the gas tank exhaust heat shield vibrating and hitting the pipe, and my blowoff valve bumping against my engine bay.
How can I keep my heat shield back or glued to the gas tank so it doesn't vibrate? I don't want to drill near the gas tank.
