MPG on 5th Gen Si
I was wondering what others where getting? I get about 28 to 29.4-MPG, About 280-294 Miles to full tank. Is this right? I think its great, I went from 14 MPG, so to me it's great. I've seen ppl claim 35MPG on their cars, so just seeing what others get. I drive it hard sometimes, I dont redline the car but I drive it fast.
MOD's on car that may affect MPG:
ITR CAI 3"
ES Oval exhaust
Also dont have AC or Power Steering, dont know if that affects MPG.
Thanks!

I get 300miles to a tank just putzing around the city and about 350 on the hwy.Running 87oct and a little hammering down everyonce in a while. The tank is 11.9Gal.
MPG:
25.2(city)/29.4(hwy)

That is not very good mileage if you still have the original D16Z6. I have 189K miles on my 93 Si w/short ram and WS catback. On average over a tank it usually gets 37 mpg, but on the last tank I got 40 mpg. I usually run it down to empty, fillup normally around 10 gals. The last thing I did was change the plugs even though they still looked good and the mpg went back up to 40.
If the PS and AC is missing, that shouldn't hurt mileage at all, but indicates the previous owner(s) modified it. Check it with a timing light. Check/change fuel filters, and do a normal tuneup. You should be getting AT LEAST 34 mpg with normal driving.

i could get 325 miles out of a tank with the Z6... that was mostly driving around my town with little stop and go driving and rarely red lining it.
with the B18C... i still get like 300 miles out of a tank, which calculates to something like 30 MPG (i forget exactly what it is).
so with the Z6 i was getting probably 36 MPG, i think.

Just drive around shifting at 3000RPM or less all the time, and your D16Z6 will bless you with 35mpg or even more.
I used to get about 27-29mpg with my Z6 under normal driving, and around 35mpg on the highway.
Now I average 32mpg under normal driving with my B16A2, and 30mpg on the highway too; the gearing makes this engine get strange mileage. I have recorded up to 38mpg with the stock A2. I can also get 10mpg if I drive around in VTEC all day . . . it's amusing to do a VTEC pull in 4th gear and watch your fuel gauge move in real time . . .

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (Blazin Si)
Yeah, I get almost exactly 30 mpg on my B18C in the GSR, same traffic conditions, but shifting between 4K and 4.5K. It's hard to drive conservatively with a GSR I bring it into vtec in 2nd and 3rd heading out across the causeway to get in front of the SUVs. Funny thing is, driving to Miami and back at 4K rpm (80mph) almost the whole way it still got 30 mpg.

the nice thing about the Z6 is that you can run low octane gas... i think i used like 89 or 87... i forget.
i run 94 octane in the B18 and it was $1.87 a gallon last time i filled up.
it cost me $21 to fill it up.

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (UnrealSpeed)
In my 92 DX Sedan with 198,000 I got 34 MPG last night
Filled up the tank to about 10.2 gallons which cost about $17.00.
That was on 360 miles.
Mine usually does pretty damn good.
That both driving around town, and cruising back and forth to work on the highway.
Sorry there not Si hatch figures but still thought I would contribute.

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (UnrealSpeed)
I'm a little lighter than a real si. But with my dx/d16z6 smaller tank? I think it might be but not sure.
I get around 280-290 a tank and fill it to about 8.6 gals when I fill up to get those numbers.
I have a catback and a fake j's racing intake. Rest is stock.
I guess could play a role I'm using 15/195/50 tires a little wider than stock.

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (Emerika)
damn!
i average 25-28 mpg on my d15b7 5-speed coupe
if i do a lot of freeway i can hit 33.
but most of my driving is in very... spirited I hardly ever shift below 4500... i live in a very hilly area so i know that effects it. i hit redline on almost every drive, you have to if you want to move with this motor lol.
my mods are AEM CAI, RS*R catback, and Rota Slips with ES100's in 15-50-205's
i think i need a new O2 or something... i have 99460 miles last valve adjustment was at 90k....
is this bad?
i use 89 octane here in Cali.

Dont feel bad thats about what I got with my eg6. It has I,H,E, cams, camgears, testpipe.
My '92 si gets over 300 on a tank. Once it gets close to empty I fill it up cuz I work in Vernon wich is a wasteland so I dunno how far I can stretch it yet. hehe

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (nosepkr)
I live in GA. 95 EJ d16z6 intake/exhaust 199k milles.
On a trip back from Panama City, FL I made it home on one tank of gas, I then drove on the same tank of gas for another 3-4 days believe it or not and I got a total of 405 miles before I got gas again.
Normally, I will get between 250 - 310 city. Depending on how spirited my driving and a/c use.

Re: MPG on 5th Gen Si (Outrun)
it looks as if everyone gets different numbers. I'm going to check into making sure my car is tip top shape and see if my MPG increases. I used to get better MPG on my old EX coupe.
