motor is burning oil
my motor is burning oil and im not sure where to look first. its a b16a2 and my friend says he can see the white smoke when coming out of the exhaust when i get on it. i can also smell it inside the car when i come to a stop off the freeway...little feedback would help. thanks guys

More than likely valve seals or steams, Id replace the seals (its pretty simple with the right tool and cheap too). Make sure u check the compression first and make sure the cylinders are sealing properly which would rule out rings.

Just a quick note that it's probaly not the rings if it's truly white smoke that the exhaust is emitting...typically bad rings/burning oil = blue smoke... however, you should still do a compression test as mentioned above to aire on the side of caution and rule out the rings.

I have a b16a2 that burns oil (164,xxx miles on it) It smokes when I get on it, I compression test it and it was like 120,110,90,95 so I have bad rings. So yeah compression test it to be on the safe side. If the numbers are low it's rings. But like these guys said if it's "white" smoke It's probably valve seals.
