Default Mitsuman's "Project Come Back" build thread....

page 2: motor pull
page 4: 1st attempt at custom CF gauge cluster + s300 chipping
page 5: 2nd attempt at cluster
page 6: pictures of rebuilt motor
page 9: head install
page 10: motor complete, turbo install, almost done, video of start up
page 11: DYNO

Heres a little history of the car.

Bought the car a couple years ago from a h-t member. The car was allready yellow, had no back seats, b16b civic type-r motor swap, tuned with s100, volk te-37's. Motor was expletiveing MINT. Fast, reliable, no smoke at all 9200rpms? no problem. Beauty! Well i traded the swap for a gsr swap. WORST THING IVE EVER DONE. The swap smoked, was told it was the valve seals, they were replaced 500 in labor to clean up the head and install seals+ my labor to install head= still smoking. expletive. i went with the b18c for boost. should have sold the longblock and got a stock gsr longblock. stupid me. well whatever! i have learned my lesson. So after all this frustration, i have finaly decided to build build build....

Well i finally decided I needed to do it and get it over with. I have been wanting to build my car forever but havent gotten around to it. Well it has begun! Future plans include 2.0L gsr-T, wire tuck, roll cage, new paint, new crossmember(mines bent-hit a curb), LSD, too much to list! plus i dont wanna think about it

Motor should be in the mail today. Its a darton sleeved block, bored to 84mm, with cp 9:1 pistons and eagle rods, arp rod bolts and arp headstuds, and clutchmaster stg 3 6 puck clutch. Will be replacing with acl bearings and will be replacing the rings. All rotating assembly to be balanced. Im going to have all machince work done at Valley Engines in Fountain Valley. They did great work on my buddies 1.8 200whp stock block build. Now this build is prob going to take me a while, but ill just start this thread now to give me more motivation to finish sooner.

Heres a shot of the motor as it. Stock gsr with peiced together peakboost kit.

Now the car was stolen, but by the grace of god himself all they took was an extra ecu that was lying on the floor and my rear speakers and my radio. I got really really lucky! So i owe it to this car, shes been through a lot, poor thing!

Some interior before shots, messy. havent cleaned it since they stole her. I havent driving this car since july2006 besides around the block. (suspended license.)

Now that we got all interior out, i have my master tech working on pulling the dash.

Now a shot without her....

After tinkering for a bit, dash it out!

It was getting dark on me so i snapped a last photo. this is were ill be doing the wire tuck and rewiring the sidemarkers so they acutually function!

Some tools i bought today: compresser, 2 air guns, impact gun adapters, heat gun, 20ft of shrink wrap, i still need alot more tools.

Were it all takes place! garage is really narrow, i hate that.

Ok this dude just fly's in out of no where. at first i thought it was a little birf thats how big he was! pictures dont do justice, by far the bigest moth i have ever seen. look at the rotor, if he was standing straign across the stopping surface he would go across it! Thing was nasty.

Giving me the eye....

and for ol times sake, a pic of the ol Eclipse...

Well thats all for this weekend. More to come this week hopefully.

That moth is weaksauce I saw moths with 18-inch wingspans (yes, that's larger than your ENTIRE brake rotor) with frequency in south Texas where I grew up.

How much boost are you going to run on your Dart block? With all that building, I'd hope you're aiming for at least 500whp. Looks like a fun project

good god. 18inch. around here they moths dont get bigger than 1 inch wing span. this thing had like a a good 3 inch wingspan. cant imagine 18inches! fawk! i plan on shooting for 400 initially then i think i might need a bigger turbo/intercooler. my first real decent build up so more research is to be done. also not to comfortable with the eagle rods in there making higher hp. thinking of going with carrillo pro-h with the CARR bolts.

should have known what i was in for when i posted her pic. Well heres 1, but no more!

1-2 years back....not the best but only thing i got

anybody in socal wanna help me pull the motor tonight? i need a hand and my friends are not to handy with tools. ill supply the beer!

True that, but ehh, if you took every girl for face value, and how they looked then a lot of them would be better, so im not going to judge about the ex thing ....

If you upgrade to the ARP rod bolts, the Eagles will hold to 650+ HP without breaking a sweat. The Carrillo rods are awesome, but the price reflects it

What turbocharger and manifold are you going to be using?

Yes.

There's something seriously wrong with some of the people in this forum.

Cute yes, but these responses remind me of a gaming forum I used to hang out in when I was 10 or so .

thanks! ya the eagle rods im getting actually have arp rod bolts allready. hmm

i will be using the peakboost ramhorn currently in the car and the t3/t4 that came with the peakboost kit. im a NOOB when it comes to turbo charger sizing and what not. i have a lot to learn in that aspect. So i think i might stick with this turbo, try it out, dyno, see what i can improve on and go from there. no better way to learn than from experience. IMO

i forgot to take a pic but i will use the 3in dp-back exhaust. buddy of mine did it custom for me. its nice. only thing is he didnt have flange so it is welded directly to the flex pipe will be fixed

The T3/T4 is probably a .52AR or something like that. Can you make 400whp with that? Probably. Can you do so comfortably? Meh A 60-1 or GT35[xx] would be much more functional for your HP goal. Take a picture of the numbers on your turbocharger if you could.

And yeah, if the Eagles have the upgraded ARP rod bolts already, there's no need to get different rods. 400whp is easy peazy for them

The manifold will support 600 easy, so you're good there. Don't skimp on the tune

i will do that tonight when i get the turbo off! ya i wont be going up that high. (yet : ) ) i see where your coming from though. But i dont want a HUGE turbo making power from 6-8k. i want it to be streetable. and hopefully when its all done i will tune it myself. taking the efi training course in april! or maybe ill leave it to a pro, well see where im at

thats another thing i have to research. i currently have s100. i am researching the advantages s200 w/boost s300, aem ems, crome. before i make my final decision. this is gunna be fun!
