mini me swap problems
i have z6 head with a jdm d15b block. i cant get it to time correctly to save my life, i believe the po half assed the swap. i would like to know what cam gear and belt to use for this set up. i am wanting to get an aftermarket cam gear and rplace my timing belt as well but i need to know what to buy. ive been told alot of conflicting combos to use a just want an awnser from some one who has completed this same swap before.. also i came upon this..
IMPORTANT: Several places on the net and several people on Honda-Tech say that the VX (D15Z1) timing belt is the one to use for this swap because it is for a 1.5L VTEC. THIS IS INCORRECT! When I did the initial head swap, I used a VX timing belt. The VX timing belt was WAY too tight, and whined when the engine was at high rpm. I unfortunately did not discover this until the entire head was assembled. The VX timing belt has 103 teeth, where as the Z6 timing belt has 104 teeth, and the B7 belt 106 teeth. I was finally able to replace the VX timing belt with the Z6 timing belt, and the Z6 timing belt fit much better and didn’t whine. THE D16Z6 timing belt is the correct belt to use with a B7 block / Z6 head combination.

Re: mini me swap problems
Just get a cam gear. Bisi, Skunk2, any of the well known names will do.

Re: mini me swap problems
i go to dseries.org alot and they said use the z6 cam gear, vx belt then time it like the z1 because basicly my set up is the same as a jdm d15b and the timing is exactly like the z1 so the po prob set the timing to z6 specs and thats a no go lol. im sick as ***** atm so when im better ill put it at tdc and see where i stand .
