Do you do a lot of stop and go driving? Do you lose coolant?
It's common for condensation to mix with the oil, leaving milky oil. Normally when you get the motor hot it will boil off the water. Change the oil, avoid short trips if you can and keep an eye on it.

Re: milky oil in the head what can cause this
sorry to bring up an older post. I just pulled my VC off my GSR and the whole looks like it's covered in white grease. It's all milky and ickk. It's my DD, no overheating, no loss in coolant and compression is good. The weather here is warm one day nad freezing the next. Is it just from that or what? I Also just switched to full synthetic oil, and it's not like that on the dipstick.

It is 100% normal if its on the cap head area, if its on the dip stick your screwed. Normally due to short drives in cold weather. Condensation does not have time to burn off due to the short drive/run...

who cares if you say it doesn't burn oil or lose water or overheat.
is their a problem other than nasty oil on the valvecover? from what you said no so thats the only problem which is not a big deal. either take ur motor apart and clean all the sludge or drive the **** out of it
