master cylinder or brake booster?
So, I have had this problem with the brakes for a while now, and am just now getting around to fixing it.
When coming to a stop, the pedal will continue to sink in. I've bled them (and I know how to bleed brakes) and they do not pump up, so I know it isnt air.
If I keep a steady pressure on it, it will continue to sink, even after stopped.
So, I pulled the master cylinder away from the booster and found it was rusty and wet from brake fluid.
Now, this would seem to indicate it is, in fact, the master cylinder.
So, if the booster has been exposed to brake fluid, does that mean it may also be damaged and I should replace it too? There is a rubber seal there going into the booster, but it seems okay....
whatcha think?

Re: master cylinder or brake booster? (mattbatson)
needs a master cylinder, fluid is leaking past the primary cup in the master cylinder causing the pedal to sink, booster should be fine
