Went to the dyno today with a chrome basemap installed in my chipped p28 (manual) and as soon as he hooks up the laptop to the socket to make changes it throws code 19 for auto ecu and will not engage vtec. I have double checked and triple checked it IS a manual ecu. And when he puts my basemap chip back in it no code and vtec engages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got back home and tried another friends basemap chip and also no check engine light and vtec worked. I bought his p28 and basemap chip and am running that until I return to the dyno again monday and go for round two with this newly purchased p28. I just don't get why everything is fine until he plugs up the laptop to the chip socket and begins to try and make changes and it causes a code 19 for auto ecu when I am not using an auto ecu.

Any ideas? I'll accept longshots at this point lol. Is there any chance the version of chrome my tuner was using could cause it? The car was never an auto and like I said my p28 was never auto. I suppose my ecu could be bad altogether but I don't see a manual ecu going bad and all of a sudden converting itself to an auto ecu. I'm stumped. But i picked up my buddies p28 and also borrowed a converted p06 to try as well. If both of those do the same I have no idea what to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
