96 civic Dx, b18cr swapped, the other day I had a problem with the thermostat ground cause I accidentally painted over it and I cleaned it off and it started working the tranny to chassis are clean, and the one in the car is good too, the battery is a few months old so it's clean, and the terminals are clean also, how can you tell if the starter has gone bad?

Re: Main relay and starter cut relay clicking
I just took my starter to get checked at oreilly and they said it's working fine, so my next guess is starter cut relay or main relay? Cause when trying to start it doesn't crank or anything, just a lot of clicking in relays and lights on cluster dimming when clicking

Re: Main relay and starter cut relay clicking
What happens when starter relay is bad? Or when main relay is bad? I forgot to mention that before that happened my cousin was tightening the starter red cable nut and he accidentally touched ground and it sparked, would that have something to do with it acting up?

take a Wire a connect it directly where the grounds come out of the relay and then ground off that wire to the chassis bolt the the relay is secured on if it works then your grounds are bad anyways i had this same problem and this solved it for me!

Re: Main relay and starter cut relay clicking
Someone told me the motor might be locked so I pushed started it and it worked, so that means it's not locked it's something else, the IG 1 fuse is good and the battery fuse is good also, so what can it be?
