Re: after market manifold help
Here's my question. What TB are these "people" telling you to get? My other question is why would you NOT be able to use your TB? My third question is WHY are you getting a Box IM?

yes you can use your b16 original cable and i say keeping your original intake manifold is better then the blox for sure, on the long run its better

If by original, you mean the cars original B16 intake manifold and throttle cable? The manifold will not fit a gsr head. The throttle cable should fit most after market style intake manifolds for the gsr though as they are similar in design

Re: after market manifold help
A gsr throttle body is the same as any other throttle body found on B16A, and B18B. The difference is it has a couple threaded holes for two bolts that hold the gsr throttle cable on. That bracket comes off, and fit like any other throttle body, there is no difference..oh, the throttle rotor is backwards, but easily swapped by removing one nut.
I have done this before, this is how i know

Re: after market manifold help
all throttles body b/d/f/h have the same bolt pattern. what hes talking about is the rotor that ur throttle cable hooks to turn the flap is reverse. he would need to find one from a rs,ls or gs teggy and swap it out. some times the rotors are bigger and u cant use them because they had cruise control and the mount for the cable wont line up. you wont have as much slack in the cable to mount the bracket

Re: after market manifold help
you are making this much more difficult than it needs to be....any regular non gsr throttle body will bolt up and you are done!! If using your gsr throttle body, take off one nut and swap the throttle rotor (takes 3 mins to do, EASY)
Once you get this done, you will shake your head at how easy it was

Re: after market manifold help
dude READ!!!!!!!!!! it has been said 5 times in this thread that yes, you can use a damn b16 tb. i dont understand why you would go thru the trouble to install junk parts anyways. btw: "the light flashed bout 5 times" is the dumbest **** i have ever heard. 1 long flash= 10, 1 short flash= 1. if you dont know or understand these most basic of things, stop working on your own car.
