Default Leaking roof rails? Water woes.

97 Civic EX I have water dripping from the A pillar when it rains a lot. It is NOT coming from the sunroof in anyway because I have viewed the leak with the headliner out and panels out. Previously to even rule that out the hole sunroof was dropped, cleaned, and new OEM hardware/lines/fittings installed. It is not coming from the antenna hole, which also has a fresh gasket to rule out, and the windshield was freshly replaced and the leak still occurs.

With that said, has anyone has this problem? The only thing I can think of is that the roof rails (under the black plastic trim pieces) are leaking. Our roofs are simply spot welded and seam sealed. Could it be that the seam sealer has seen better days and has become ports or cracked? Or is there a real culprit that I'm missing?

since you said you removed the headliner and saw the leak, then shouldn't it be simple to see the water dripping in via the seams?

Just apply seam sealer to where you observe it leaking.

Nice idea except for it comes in from inside the boxed in pillar and drips through the inside panel overlap that doesn't get sealer. Sealing it there would just make it run down the pillar internally to another point.

ahh.. now I understand.. I had this happen with mine (96) and there was rust in the perimeter around the windshield. Found it after a new windshield was installed. Removed the new windshield and ended up sandblasting the perimeter, seam sealing it, then reinstalling the windshield. I had it coming in via the a-pillar towards the inside of the car and down towards where the VIN plate is.

Can you take pictures of the exact area where you see water coming down?
