Default Knocking noise(Hopefully not Rod knock)

Hey, noticed last night driving my parents home from dinner that the engine at points was making a knocking noise. It didn't really sound like a rod knock because when i was idling or starting the car i can't hear it. I can be completely wrong and need to double check. But it almost seems like when i'm "De-accelerating" it making a clicking/knocking noise. Give it as i know my dad drives this car so ******* hard all the time that i can seem him mis-shifting or flaring up the RPM's driving hard that something might have came lose or broke. I know the CV-joints are broke(Or in his words "Worn") so it's not that clicking noise when i am turning. I wanted to take a video but did not have a second person to record while driving today to try and capture it. What could this be?

i had a weird noise in a B18B1 that acted similar. I torn the engine down and it was a rod bearing that had spun caused by low oil level paired with hard cornering. it also caused the car to idle very rough and occasionally die.

Found it is the CAT. Some shop out here want's to charge my dad 150$ for the cat + install. Is this good? Or overpriced. I tried convincing him OVER AND OVER again to just let me weld it, half these shops over here ******* suck at welding and do "Decent" jobs.
