Just great....

Just great....
I want to do a 99-00 EK front end conversion for my EK so i bought the bumper and headlights already, so I htought what the heck im gonna try and see if the bumper fits. So I took the headlights and fenders and grill off and kept the hood open and started to install the 99-00 EK bumper. Well small problem.... The radiator support makes it impossible for it to fit, so now I have to chop off my radiator support and weld a 99-00 radiator support on there. On password JDM is says NOTHING about this, it says "it should fit like a glove" god im so pissed because I just spent all that money for no reason, im not about to start cutting my car up.

Re: Just great....
96-98 and 99-00 have a different radiator support.... a good search will tell you this ;-)
but anyways for a proper conversion you need hood bumper fenders and grill, your current radiator support can be cut. thse 2 tabs that stick out to mount the bumper.... grind the folded up section off... so its flat, then it will fit much easier

Re: Just great....
I know this. This thread says I can simply use a dremel and cut some pieces off, did anyone have to do this when doing a 99-00 conversion?

Re: Just great....
Well I followed that thread, it seems to have worked, I just need to order the fenders before I drill the holes, but the bumper and lights are on there now, but it looks kinda funny with the 96-98 fenders, hood, and grill lol.
EDIT: im a little worried because one of my dremel bits shattered while I was cutting and im pretty sure the pieces flew inside my engine bay, because they werent on the ground. I hope im not driving down the freeway and a piece flies into my engine and destroys it.
