jdmshit Mugen V2 and type r rear lip... PICs inside and review
I had a regular mugen lip from jdmshit.com last year but broke it during the winter. Freakin ice.
Here's 2 more pics of my car before the lips went on.
It came like this when it finally arrived.
It took over a week to get from cali to washington.
In between cutting the tape off. I had a jdm drink.
Finally got it opened.
A comparison of the mugen and V2.
I forgot to take pics of the front and rear lip after i took it out of the box.
The label inside the v2 lip.
I assumed this is the spoon style lip newman said would be completed during june. Just didn't turn out right i guess.
The hardware that came with the lips. The left is for the front and the right is for the rear.
Had to cut a hole for the rear lip to fit my espelir exhaust.
Finally got it on after painting and buffing it.
Finally got around to painting and putting on the rs sideskirts. They've been sitting in my garage for over a year. Got bored of the ek sideskirts.
Overall the lips are ok. One thing though. Notice the V2 that i got from newman. His hooked up to the bottom like the spoon lip. Mine is like the original mugen lip.
Fitment for the front and rear i give it an 8 out of 10.
The corners had to be stretched out to fit. There's a bit of a small gap on the corners. Nothing too bad though.
The v2 feels a lot more flimsy then the original mugen lip.
I'll take better pics during the day if anyone wants to see any different angles.

Re: (Jimmy)
Yea it's a bit tilted. Didn't notice til after i installed it and already drilled the holes.
It was a struggle to keep the lip on while trying to drill the holes for the bolts.

yea thats the same lip i got from jdmcarboy on here. he sells them for 85$
i know cause it has the same tag.
i didnt like mine the way it mounted either. so i modified it to mount under the grill instead of flapping over it.
see.
you can see theres a flip that goes over the edge of the bottom of the grill...
so what i did was cut a slit into the bumper and slid that little slit into it.
holds it in place without having to mountthe middle. and looks waybetter.
you cant tell from the pic but it doesnt angle up anymore and looks 100x better.

I hope Newman doesn't get to offened when I say this but when I got the lip I was highly disappointed. It won't fit the bumper, the middle piece is just retarded and as I see from your pictures it just looks bad. I'm very disappointed I wasted $120 on this thing so if anyone local (NY) wants this lip I am more then willing to get rid of this thing at a lower price.
This Jdmshit lip gets from me, IMHO .
Good luck with the hatch man.

I'm not offended or upset, but I did tell everyone that these were only going to be carried for a limited time while our OE Mugen and OE Spoon lips were being finished up, and that there wasn't a lot of R&D put into these but just another EG lip option available at the time. Fitment is tight but with some work, and using one of the brackets supplied, you can make it fit well. Now we just finished our sample for the OE Mugen lip (Wings West style) and I should have some fitment pics up later tonight but once it gets the OK from myself and a couple of other guys here, we'll have a batch of those out shortly in black urethane. I also have a couple of urethane OE Mugen lips for the EK Civics but need to find a 96 bumper and a 99 bumper to get a final test fot (PM me if you're in the area ). The OE Spoon lips, I should see later this month.

Yea your right, I got it too fit just fine, I was just a little pissed at another part of my car at the time. Fitment is pretty good though, just takes a little effort. Sorry about that... I'm probably going to end up buying the new one your making anyway. Thanks

Are you going to get any OE Spoon lips for the EK?

Re: (si foo)
What i really wanted was the spoon or mugen lip newman is working on.
I'm still going to get them. I just got impatient(sp?) waiting for him to get it done. So i decided to try this lip out.
