i jus got home n checked the wiring color. it has 2 wire, red with blue stripe and green. Hope this can help.

Ok I just poked around my bay for about 5 minutes and couldn't find anything like that :-/. Is that plug right next to it the EGR? If so, it could be your vtec wires... Idk if you've located them or what but seeing where the plugs around it go should give you a good idea of where to look.

Hey DJslim, thanks for the pointer for Hmotors for my ECU, they came up trumps and were VERY helpful indeed!
The ECU is in and apart from a few CEL's things are almost done. As an aside I'll be puting a write up about Tiger Japanese Autos which is where I got my engine from.

On the subject of the bare wires...I just went out and poked around all my sensors and I can't find that two-wire combination anywhere? The closest I could find was the vtec solenoids. If you have a three stage vtec D15B (two solenoids) then those two wires go a short distance to another connector which in turn heads for the ECU...Good luck with that one!

I still got my Vtec plug on. This might help
-the wire is bundled together with the thermostat housing grounding.

then its the CFS (cooling fan switch). Thats the only 2 wire plug near the Thermo housing that is bundled with it. There is another 2 wire plug that does the ECT but its not bundled with it.

I don't think so, because i checked on my current engine which is a D too, and the color match the cfs on the 3 stage engine and it's plugged in.

wtf, is it a JDM harness or something then? Maybe its another sensor that only existed on the JDM setups or something? Because I know every plug on the harness.

LOL... yup, it is a stock JDM D15B 3 Stage VTEC. Aren't we in the same thread talking about JDM D15B 3 Stage?

yea but i didnt realize you had a JDM harness aswell.

my wrong also of not providing enough info. the harness is from JDM Auto D15b 3 stage vtec OBD2b. I gonna use the harness and remove the cvt wires/plug so that the harness can be close to manual on as possible.
Do you know which one should I removed?

I am not aware..... but if you look up info on the HX motor (d16y5), that might help you out regarding the CVT. HX's came with the same CVT as the d15b if I am not mistaken. Maybe search CVT to manual swap

okay, is that engine from an ek? because my country only has EK and EJ.
So basically i can remove every plugs for the CVT sensor?

I got the interior wiring too, i'd like to ask, Is the abs a standalone system(not connected to the ecu)?are all the orange plugs belongs to the ABS system? can i remove it as my car doesnt have abs?

Hmmm I'm pretty sure the HX is an EJ, not 100%. It's got the vtec-e motor. I'm not the one to ask about the CVT, sorry, but I'd assume you can remove them. And as far as ABS goes, as far as I know it doesn't go thru the ecu, but is separate. If I were you I'd leave it in the harness so if you ever want to add it down the road its right there. It's quite an impressive mod IMO.

ok. i found out that the wires without plug happened to be the drive solenoid speed sensor. i am thinking to removed all the plugs that are use for CVT which iam not gonna need it for my manual tranny. for the abs, i think i will separte it with the main harness inside the interior wirng so tat i know which one is that.

Y5s were us only. And they came in ej's which all chassis' from 92-00 other than the si are ej.

Howdy! Ahh, nothing really new. I'm actually do for e-check this month (that's Ohio's emission testing), so I need to get myself a p2p ecu to get by the obdII scan. I still haven't replaced the intake manifold gasket so I'm getting a little bit of a bog at times. Other than that, I love this motor! I'm getting a solid 30 mpg driving quite aggressively with the A/C on.

Well what I'm curious to know is, why not use the intake manifold that it came with, why would you need to swap it out to a d16y5 intake manifold?

I needed a 2-wire iacv which is only on m/t d's (my engine apparently came out of an auto), so I had to find the closest m/t intake manifold to work. Since I'm using a p2j ecu, it looks for an egr which is also on the manifold. The y5 is the only d-series manifold that I know of with an egr.

crap do you still have the manifold that came off your motor?

indeed I do, it's actually very very minty. however, I salvaged every sensor off it as well as the egr (the usdm d-series egr has 5 wires I believe, while the p2j only looks for 3 wires).

hi guys, is me again. I jus did my swap into my ek hatch. Love the engine very much. I gonna continue my build thread that i started 2 yrs ago when i first got my car ( Sorry op, i didn't mean to jack ur thread, just come accross while search for info).

I got a problem with my engine too after the first start. Car idle very bad, from 2k rpm and drop below 1k constantly eventhough car warmed up. After that, I sent it to my mechanic, he found out that i accidently switch the tps and map wire at the ecu plug i think is 17 and 27.( I did wire tucked LOL). Can some one in here with JDM D15B OBD2B provide me the wiring code for the ecu blue plug?
