As a whole, they should be approximately the same weight.

There may be minor weight differences between the two engines in terms of their accessories, ie: the CTR crank pulley is supposed to be lighter than those used on its other Bseries counterparts. The bare blocks and heads themselves should be the same in weight as they are pretty much the same part.

I'm wondering would the B16B have a shorter block height than the b18c5... I know B16a's do, not sure if the b16b's use the same block..

doot doot

i think youre right, from what i can tell theyre essentially the same block, the B16B is just destroked to lower the displacement, but they gave it very high dome piston's to keep the compression ratio up. i might be wrong though.

the b16b has 7mm more deck hight than the b16a, which is the same as the gsr, ls, and itr.

Yep same deck height as b18c. Unless crank is counterweighted differently, I think it would be the same weight as an ITR motor. FYI not all CTR's came with the N1 crank pulley. I have a B16B and its the same crank pulley as my b16a was.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EF9_SiR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">probably an ITR crank, and rods and pistons</TD></TR></TABLE>

Correct, or just use a GSR crank, rods and your CTR pistons and have something a little cheaper and higher comp.
