Default Installing A/C Compressor Belt

I have a 1998 Civic DX and my idler tensioner pulley went bad and froze up which led to the belt to wear off and eventually break. I bought the idler tensioner pulley and the belt and we removed the belt on the power steering to get to the pulley. We were able to install the pulley that went bad but could not get the belt on. It appears there is a bracket (we're not sure what to call it) that gets in the way for us to install the belt. That bracket is essentially limiting the length of the belt and we don't have enough length to put it on. Any ideas how to install a compressor belt on a 1998 Civic?

thanks

if i'm not mistaken you need to remove that bracket (torque mount?) then put the belt on. the torque mount goes thru the belt

Nice diagram, I'm thinking it looks more like #10 and it's attached to the engine I think. My buddy thought maybe a shop would have to hoist the engine. I think there has got to be a much easier way to put that darn A/C belt on. I need it to run my defroster for this coming winter. Thanks for your help and I appreciate any further input you have.

1. remove engine mount #9
2. install belt
3. reinstall engine mount #9
