Default Injectors?

On a 1999 honda civic running a obdI ls ecu, do you need a resistor box if running high impedance injectors? and if I do run high impedance injectors with a resistor box, would that cause damage?

high impedence injectors mean high resistance injectors. you need resistance somewhere in a fuel injector driver circuit, either by means of high impedence injectors w/ no resistor box, or by using low impedence injectors with a resistor box.

since a resistor box cuts down current to [usually] low impedence injectors, i'd imagine using high impedence injectors w/ a resistor box would not cause damage, but barely if at all open the injector.

now, vise-versa, low impedence injectors w/ no resistor box could burn up the injectors and/or the drivers (ecu)

edit- actually, thinkin about it, it might be the other way around... that would pull a lot of current if the injectors were working... did the car run??

to clarify my situation, prior to bringing my car to the tuner, I have high impedance injectors without the resistor box because to my understanding you didn't require a resistor box with high impedance injectors. when I brought my car to the tuner, he suggested that I needed a resistor box so I got one installed. after getting my car back from him, I did about maybe six light pulls and one of my injector failed (tunertoys 660cc high impedance brand new). Now I am just wondering what might have caused it to fail: Bad injectors?

With 660cc injectors you will more than likely need the resistor box. As far as i know, there aren't a whole lot of injectors offered over 550cc that dont need a resistor box. What do you mean you had an injector fail?? How did you figure that out??

Well I brought it back to my tuner and figure that cylinder number one was not working. we than check spark and injector signal and both were good. we also did a compression and leak down test which also came up good. that leave us to the conclusion that the injector in cylinder one was not functioning. He is a very reputable and good tuner and I just want to figure out if tunertoys sent me a bad injector.r
