idle problem or fuel pump problem? B20B CRV motor, stall coming to stop or nuetral
need help, thanks in advance!
recently swapped B20B motor in civic, it suffers from surging idle slightly a little bit during start-up, and large fluctuations after car is warmed-up, and car stalls on nuetral coming to a stop.
changed IACV, cleaned out FITV, but symptoms still exists.
I am still using stock civic fuel pump, is this a idle problem or a fuel pump problem? how can I fix this problem, suggestions?
(also, throttle feels weak now when the car is moving)
thanks!!!

Not the fuel pump. I've been running my stock Del Sol SI pump (1.6 SOHC VTEC) with no problems at all, however I did change to a Walbro 255. I'm willing to bet that your fast idle went bad. Very common problem in Hondas. I would further look into that.

yeah, i did, but it didnt help
the car would start off idling pretty high, and as the car starts to warm it, the rpm fluctuations starts to get lower and lower, until the car finally dies (stalls), and when i start the car again, it would die again
thanks!

i cleaned out my FITV and tightened the screw, following the instructions i found on HT, but i am not sure, any ideas how i can test that my current FITV is bad?
thanks!

Yeah, you can test it. I'm not sure if you noticed, but when you take the entire thing apart, there is a little thermostat inside of there. Unscrew that huge white plastic screw and take out that assembly that resembles a thermostat. Put that in some boiling water and see if it reacts. If it does nothing, its bad.

forget to ask, i was thinking since only older hondas have the FITV, howcome the B20's come equiped with the FITV? i think mine motor is from a 97 B20
should i just try to block off the FITV, and get rid of it all together?
thanks!

I had the same problem with my built B!^ after i changed to a skunk 2 68mm throttle body and skunk 2 intake manifold on a p73 ecu (Integra type R OBD2) I found that after trying to adjust the idle screw on the throttle body didnt work, cleaning the FICV didnt help, the tps, map, and iat sensors all worked. The problem I was having was there was no PCV hooked to the intake manifold(hooking it up helped) also if you run an ITR or skunk 2 manifold you eliminate the dual butterfly valve inside the manifold to a single valve which increases airflow, so if you are running your stock ecu you might want to upgrade to an OBD1 and fun a air/fuel management system on it. good luck.

Not trying to be a dick but this is the 2nd post with bad info. PLEASE stop advising people to switch to OBD1 and some sort of management to fix idle problems!
