how much to fix 3rd gear synchro?
I have a 2000 civic with b18c and lsd tranny. 3rd gear is starting to grind a lot. I have tried both Honda transmission fluid and GM synchromesh friction modified with no luck. Pretty sure its the 3rd gear synchro. has anyone had theres fixed before? How much on average should I expect to pay? Im gonna call up some places but I want to be sure I wont get ripped off. thanks for the help.

That seems a bit low to me, considering that's on the low end of what most places would charge you for a clutch job around here (which is a lot of the same work).
What's book on removing/replacing a tranny? I'd consider it like 6 hours at $50/hr, which is $300, and that's before they even open the tranny to replace the synchro.
I'd say more like $600-700 for a shop. Maybe it would only be like $200-300 if you pulled the tranny yourself and brought it to the shop.

only $50/hr? thats way cheaper than the $89/hr around here, and im guessing atleast $6-700 with no warranty. i think you would almost be cheaper buying a new trans from honda.
