IACV problem...but not the IACV
Well ill make this short, runs rough around 1200-1500. CEL 14 when i hit the 1200 rpm range and it surges. Cleaned the IACV and FITV. Didnt fix it so i replaced the IACV...still same problem. So i check power to IACV and it is batt voltage. So i check cotinuity for yellow/black to green/white(ecm). No reading so open in wire i thought. Then i ran a wire from the iacv to the ecm and still same problem. So i try to jumped the green white to ecm ground and i didnt get a click from iacv(rules out bad ecm). Ran a new ground and still nothing. I am completely lost. Anyone have an idea of what else to try?

sorry i was frustrated at the time. 92 hatch with a b16 i think might be out of a del sol. No change in speed with IACV unpluged. I grabbed the 95 del sol service manual and etm at work and followed some troubleshooting...Im pretty much lost on a swap car that i cant hook the HDS up to.

Re: IACV problem...but not the IACV
i currently have the same problem with my 92 ex that i did a mini me swap in....code 14 but cleaned the iavc, then replaced it with a new one. no change in idle speed when i unplug the iavc. connections are hooked up correctly. car surges between 1200-1500 until it gets to temperature, then idles fine, but cel stays on. so far the only remedy until now is ill turn the car off, then turn it back on, manually rev it to about 2000 rpm and hold it for about 5 seconds, and then let it idle normal and the check engine light doesnt come back on. but like i said, i have to wait to do that until the car reaches temp. im going to do some more troubleshooting within the next few days, so if i find anything out, ill let you know.. you do the same because i want to get this fixed. i want to get this running properly befor winter gets in full effect. help from anyone else would be great also!

ok take off throttle body there is 2 8mm bolts take them out there is a weird looking white piece take a screw driver and turn it clockwise as in tightening it and it is spring loaded tighten it all the way down and put everything back together should fix all the surging problems!

Guys if all else fails, check for vaccum leaks. Take a can of brake clean or carb cleaner and spray on and around all vacuum lines and gaskets of the throttle body and intake manifold. Be careful not to spray the alternator.

its just weird that we are throwing a code 14 and it has nothing to do with the iavc itself. i know i have power to the iavc and ive checked for continuity. some booooshit

well i think i got a vacuum leak but dont know where. Went out today with some brake clean and couldnt find a leak. Decided to see what happend if i were to spray some in my intake pipe and the surging stopped.

im having almost the same problem, but just for grins, do you happen to have two idle air control valce connectors, look under the manifold, my wiring harness that came in my eg has 2 that look the exact same for some reason, they both fit the iac, but only one actually works with it, my problem i have found is a sticking butterfly in my aftermarket holley throttle body, if you manualy pust the throttle shut on the tb while its running the idle surge goes away completly

Re: IACV problem...but not the IACV
old *** post but i just received a message about it. uniqueimage was correct, there is another connector that is close to the iac that is the exact same. I had them switched, it did not fry my ecu though.
