I NEED HELP WITH BATTERY NOT STAYING CHARGED!!!!!
I need some help guys. My battery will not stay charged. Battery is new. Alternator is new. The shop said it had charging issues thats why I replaced it. Its hard for me to narrow it down because the car sat almost all of last year (at the body shop ) then when I got it back I noticed the issues beginning. The battery was dying so I though that since the car sat for so long that it just went bad so they replaced the battery. Since then I have installed my stereo and my turbo. Every time I drive it, about 15 minutes later the tach starts jumping, my gauges stop working and all my lights dim. Does anyone have any insight as what to look at? The shop said everything checked out (charge wise) since the new alternator. I dont know what it could be?

I once had a similar issue and when I check voltage at the alt. I had 14v but when checked at the battery is was only 12.5v well after like a week of testing I found that the transmission ground was loose and not letting the voltage make it all the way to the battery. anyway if I were you I would start with a voltage check at both the alt then the battery and if there is a difference then just take a fat sub power wire and connect it to the engine and ground of battery then check to see if the difference goes away if so then start to check for resistance on your existing grounds to find the colprate. good luck.

oh yea goes from the tranny case to the chassis. bet you money thats your problem. you should have at least 2 grounds on the engine. I actually made a third going from the intake manifold to chassis. the better the grounds the better the sensors can work and car runs alot better

Just any where, just get you a ground cable and find a bolt in the case and attach it then find another one in the chasis close to it. and should fix your problem
