Default I have A Quick Question About Registering A RHD Civic!

I was wondering how do I go about registering my RHD EG6 that I bought. The car is not registered. But I was wondering how I can register my car in southern California. And what I would have to do to make it legal.

First of all is it legal??? Imported??? Conversion??? I had A RHD DB1 conversion and I had to register it illegally because it'd never pass smog or inspection. So I had to fork out 250 for illegal smog. If it's conversion, register it illegally. If it's imported they may try to tax you hardcore.

You CANNOT register that car legally in California as it does not have a DOT issue VIN #. Your only option is to register it under a VIN from another vehicle.

I don't know what I'm talking about? ****** numbnut. Do your ****** research. In order for a foreign car to be federalized - to receive a VIN from DOT for registration - the DOT and EPA must have crash test data and emissions, respectively, on file. The right hand drive version DOES NOT technically exist in the US, even if it does share the same underpinnings. If it is so easy to register a car straight from Japan, then why do we not see RHD cars all over the road? Two of my friends have registered RHDs (one being a CRX, the other being a Nissan 180SX; both were registered as "kit cars" utilizing a right hand drive conversion and using existing VIN #s). Go ahead, WHACK EG4. Go down to the DMV and try to register a un-VINd vehicle with "papers" from Japan.

Okay, so your saying that just tell the DMV the car is a conversion and use a different VIN number ?? but where do you get the vin from ?? becuase i know it cant be used 2 times ? correct ?

Maybe YOU should do YOUR research!

I HAVE AN IMPORTED RIGHT HAND ******* DRIVE 1993 HONDA CIVIC EG4 REGISTERED 100% LEGALLY WITH THE JDM VIN! YES MY CALIFORNIA CLEAN TITLE SAYS VIN: EG4#######

Your suggested method of VIN SWAPPING is heavily ILLEGAL and is a federal crime. Stop spreading misinformation!
