Default 99-00 civic depo foglight relay...

I bought this kit from ebay and honestly it didn't last 3 months before the relay went bad, started buzzing ,my fogs would come on but not all the time. I went and got a pilot relay from pepboys and now they dont work at all. Anybody knows the right relay or part number for it???

It's probably a regular relay you can get from Radio Shack. I have the kit too and I bought it from Weaksauce. I've had the kit hooked up for over 6 months without a problem. Where did you mount the relay? I hooked mine up on the passenger shock tower where it is less likely to get wet.

Most of the 12V relays you'll find in a store are the same, and they all serve the same purpose: to close a circuit using a low amperage signal.

I'm going to guess that you plugged the wires in the same locations, which may not have been the same part of the circuit. Check the wiring diagram on the relay and make sure that your wires are connected to the same numbered terminals and not just in the same looking location.

All those wire are in a plug which plugs in the relay, there is no way they were switched around unless whoever makes these kits wired them wrong. I don't have the diagram for it anybody knows where I can get one or download it?? Also can a bad relay burn out the bulbs in the fogs, that's something I haven't checked yet???

Yes, but the relay in the kit may have the terminals for signal and voltage in different locations. The wiring diagram should be molded into the top of the relay, and the terminals are numbered. Make sure the terminal numbers on the old relay match the locations of the terminals on the new relay.

You Can Get The Relay At Auto Zone. I Have Seen It There. I Got The Fog Lights On My EK. Check The Plugs Where The Fog Light Connect To The Harness. Some Times The Wires Go Bad. It Happen To Me. Make Sure They Are Making Contact.

Okay, wait, I got a little confused.... I thought you were just taking the wires off and plugging them onto the relay...

You bought a relay with the five blades sticking out, and then you plugged something onto the blades? I'm just not sure what's really going on here...

Is it possible to get a pic?

Ok here is the deal the relay that came with the kit crapped out and I tossed it, went and I got one from pepboys it plugs in fine but the fogs won't turn on, I was thinking of removing the wires from the plug and just switch them around and see if that helps.

The one I bought from pepboys plugs in fine where the old one used to plug in, it has 4 blades the brand is pilot by the way.

Just because it plugs in fine does not mean that the connections match up for the circuit to work. If you switched out the relays, you may have put the wires back in the wrong location.

That might the problem, what do you suggest take the wires off the plug and plug them in the relay differently see if they work??

If I can find time today I'll try and take a picture of the relay in my bay. That way it could help you put the wires in the correct place.

I will be working on a little project in the future that will make this DEPO system hook in electrically like OEM.

Here you go. I don't have any sockets to take the relay off the shock tower. You can see the ground, power, light line, and switch contact in this relay it seems. I don't have a pic of the relay diagram.

I'm having the same problem as you did but I am having trouble finding a replacement relay. Would someone be able to provide me a part number? Thanks

As this thread is 2 1/2 years old, you'd do better by making your own thread.
