i'm assuming you're talking about the Crank shaft pulley... if so the take you tire off put it in 1st gear, have a friend press the break pedal as hard as he can, then with a 1.5 foot extension and a torque wrench, tighten to spec.

That technique will not work and I'll tell you why:
First the brakes are connected to the axles which are connected to the tranny which is connected to the engine soley through a clutch(which is the weakest link). When you start to turn the engine crank pulley, even if you have someone step on the brakes as hard as they can. They engine will still move because the clutch cannot hold onto the engine due to slippage. There is nothing that will hold the clutch in place to prevent the engine from moving.
Here is 2 ways to do it: ghetto and the right way.
Ghetto way aka shadetree style: wedge a flat head screwdriver between the flywheel and the block while having someone break the torque off the crank pulley bolt.
The right way: use tool and you'll be done in no time: http://store.summitracing.com/...h.asp

Yes that's possible but if the pulley bolt is on there tight like factory "never been removed" tight then that way will not work. The right way is through the use of the factory pulley tool, Moroso's alternative and cheaper pulley tool, or the ghetto way.
