TURBO B16A FEELS UNDERPOWERED.
So this has been bothering me ever since i got my car tuned. My setup is a b16a crower rods, nippon 9:1:1 turbo pistons, supertech springs & retainers, kings bearings, stock crank, oem headgasket, ebay gt3582r, fid 1000cc injectors. The car has 2.5” intercooler piping and a relatively small ebay intercooler also has a full 3” exhaust all the way back. Im running it on hondata s300 with a mac 4 port boost controller and boost by gear. Its setup to run wastegate in 1st (8psi), 15psi in 2nd, 17psi in 3rd, and 18 psi in 4th and 5th. The car is street tuned by a reputable tuner in my area and the car just feels underpowered for the 330-350 hp he claims it makes. I have toyo r888 225/50/15 in the front and basically deadhooks in every gear besides first obviously. I assumed after i got it tuned it would be blowing the tires off in second and some of third but that is not the case. Im not looking to spin tires all day and smack limiter i just feel as if the car does not produce the numbers it should. For instance i just barely pull on my buddys bone stock 2019 sti which has around 310 hp to the crank! If anybody has a explanation behind this i would love to hear from you!!!!

Was the engine just built recently? If it is then you have to let the engine break in first....once broken into youll feel the difference. I guarantee that!! More importantly get that car on a dyno so you know exactly what numbers you are dealing with )

Low compression, small displacement, and over sized turbo.

Get it dyno tuned. There is only so much tuning that can be done on the street. And being a b16a with low comp, the torque probably isn’t much higher than 220.
