Default more power out of a DD

i currently have i/h/e on my em1. i would like to get some more power out of my car. keeping in mind this is my DD so reliability is a must. i am open to any suggestions on what to upgrade next if you think there is a better route. i just want some more power out of the car without taking away the reliability. thanks

not much n/a. A forced induction setup tuned right is just as reliable.

Why a supercharger? Turbo kits can be had way cheaper and just as reliable.

I'm willing to bet, pretty much everyone is going to say for you to turbocharge it.

ok so if a b16 isnt the route to go then maybe a b18? or like someone said a poor mans r? my only question to that is if i drop a new motor in do i have to beef up anything else to handle the transition?

which b18, GSR, type-r, or b18b, u can reuse everything but the ECU, but for the price of a swap u can boost

if your gonna go turbo then he might have to get rods or valve seals for reliability (depending on how many miles you have on your car now)

He more than likely has to get new piston rings before either of those.

the car has 99k. i would be willing to turbo as long as its not going to hinder the reliability. i am open to everything at this point. i just want to some more power when i hit the gas.

i think ctr/itr cams and valve train with a descent header and nice tune should get you what you want. Remember no matter what you do to a b16, it will always feel sluggish, but theres a difference between feeling like your going fast and actually going fast.

the b16 is a motor that dont feel like your going fast b/c of the lack of torque, but with itr/ctr cams, a good header, and a nice tune the car will really open up.

Any power you add to the car beyond what it came with stock from Honda will bring reliability into play. A turbo setup with an A+ tune and a bulletproof motor will still be less reliable than stock. Upping the power in any way will bring the reliability down to different degrees. Turbo the b16 now, and build another motor at the same time. If you tune it right and can resist turning up the boost too high, it'll last you a few years and then you can throw in a nice built motor and go kick some ***. NA will leave you pissed off unless you have at least 2 liters. K20, b18 bored out etc.

Well said. You have to be willing to spend the money to keep your car reliable and to make the power you want.

Do a H2B swap. You have big chunk of the parts since you have a EM1.
