It all depends who builds it and what parts u used. Get someone that knows what they are doing and that are recommended by others.

im hoping a LONG time, because i just got mine with like 8-9 thousand miles on it, but its got an LS trans.. i think itll last.. friend has one.. has had it for a long time, and runs it to death, hes got a GSR trans... hes turbo'ing it soon.. so i think they are fairly stable for a pretty long while.. try a search

all depends on how its built and how you drive it. build it good, dont cut corners and dont live at 9000rpm and it should last a long time. but that doesnt mean u still cant fun!

hahaha, just get a block resleeved and bored out to 2.0 L, the stock b20 got weak sleeves...it sucks when you take the head off and you see broke sleeves... good luck.

ive heard that a properly done ls/vtec starts to have problems by 20k if it last that long.

EDIT: not too sure about turbo. prolly 1/2 the life of a average ls/vtec

there is no real limit on how long they last. it all depends on your maintenence habits and how well it was built/taken care of from the begining. if u dont rev to the moon all day and you meticulously keep it clean and serviced your engine life will be long and prosperous. and be sure to do a big burnout everyday. unless u r a burnout in which case u only have to do one once every 3 days.

if it's stock bottum end.. i would say 50k for sure.. if it's built.. like 15k ... with a turbo the sleeves will crack.. so.. hehe

how u drive is a big factor !

i would boost an ls/vtec before a crvtec... if built right and tuned right it will run for a while... definetly longer than 20k

I love all the horror stories people hear. "My friends neighbors cousin's good friend had an ls/vtec and it only lasted 15k."

Use quality components and it will last a long time.

My friends ls/vtec that he built lasted 20k with no problems, he then put in a fully built b20. They last, just don't rev to astronomical heights.

8k is fine and 8500 is fine, 9000-10000 is really really high and recommend a block gridle.

I have a completely bone stock b20 bottom end with a b16 head all I have is skunk2 springs and Retainers Got my car dyno tuned at xenocron tuning solutions I been reving up 7800k and so far I been running it pretty hard for about 16,000 miles. Not sure if it makes any difference For longevity but I've been using Valvoline 5W30 Full synthetic for oil And a court of Lucas full synthetic Oil stabilizer

probably won't last long, the bottom end was only built to rev up to 6-7k rpm.

Mine lasted about 8,000 miles on the stock sleeves with cast pistons jdm b16 pistons. Complete fresh rebuild and the engine was broken in on the dyno. Went back 3 months later for a follow up tune. Only got on it a handful of times and all the A/F were good or seemed good. 2 Sleeves ended up cracking a month ago.

Yes sir. All motor. Another thing I forgot to mention was that the entire roating assembly was balanced as well. The stock sleeves really do suck. Some last a very long time and others not so much. It's a toss up really.

It is pretty rare to crack a sleeve in a NA "B" series engine... certainly as the primary failure anyway. A properly assembled and tuned LS/Vtec engine has a very good chance of long term survivability.

I agree. The sleeves were bored to 84.5 for the rebuild so they were getting a little thin. Deceided to go the LSV route this time instead of the B20V.
