Default How to install your own aftermarket horn on EK!!!

Here we go...Sorry if this isn't a good write up but i am trying to help all the EK owners that want to use there horn with an aftermarket steering wheel...

Tools:
Screwdriver
Wire Cutter
Electrical Tape
Piece of metal (6 1/2 inches long)
2 Pieces Speaker Wire (6 inches)
Double Sided Connector
Prong Connector

1st : Located the horn button under the steering column it looks like this...

I cut mine before I made this post but anyways you can see that there are three wires that come out of the horn button(teal wire with black line, teal wire with red line and a blue wire with a silver line). The horn wire is the blue wire so double sided connector, connect it to a piece of speaker wire and to will look like this...

Now that you connected the horn wire to the speaker wire you have to get that metal piece that you needed and here is the tricky part...You have bolt up this metal piece to the steering column and make sure that the metal piece is touching the brass part of the hub which is in the back of the hub. Which should look like this...Front View

Top View...

Rear View...

When you bolt on that metal piece it's time to get that horn wire with the connector and bolt that up to the screw that you used to bolt up the metal piece. Which should look like this...

After you bolt that screw on now it's the easy part...That wire that comes with the hub is going to connect to the prong that is on the botttom of the quick release. Now with the other piece of wire and the prong connector this will be the ground wire that will connect to the other prong on the bottom of the Quick Release. The ground can be bolted the steering wheel nut...Which should look like this...

Now from the Quick Release you have wires in there also. Make sure that you wire the Quick Release RIGHT. The ground to the ground and the power wire which is the horn wire the the horn wire...Then from the Quick Release wire it up to the aftermarket horn....Then kazaam...honk honk!!!!!! HAHA

I hope this post helps out all you EK owners...

just one wire goes to the metal strip, and the other two go to the backside of the cover. The wire doesnt really stick out cuz your ign. plastics cover it all
