Default How does this thing come off?

This is the lower ball joint. I need the WHOLE thing to come out of the knuckle so I can replace it. The bottom threads are BAD!

Here is a picture:
It is number [3] in that picture.

THANKS!

The lower ball joint has to be pressed out. You will need a machine press to do it. Any shop that can replace wheel bearings can usually press out the old ball joint and press in the new one.

remove the c clip - (on some models) and then rent a ball joint kit from Autozone or Trak Auto (in NVA area) - took me about 20 minutes each side.

if u dont have a ball joint puller u take a hammer and on the side of the arm u will see a lil bump smack it very hard a few times then try to bull the knuckle out or if u have a friend there have him pull on the knuckle while hammering

remove c clip, beat it out. Install new BJ with C frame press from Autozone or Harbor Freight

3 pronged bearing puller worked for me. if you don't feel like buying one most auto stores rent them out.
