Default Having problem bleeding my clutch

So I just did a b16 swap in my EGhatch and got everything up and running except my clutch. I tried bleeding it but still no pressure. I've change the slave cylinder twice and went through 3 bottles of fluid. Little bubbles always come up from the resevoir, and I get pressure sometime but then it starts to bubble up again. Have any idea what could be the problem?

Is the master cylinder leaking? Do you see any fluid leaks?

Either you arent bleeding it right or there has to be a leak somewhere. Is there any wetness on the firewall either in the engine bay or under the dash where the master mounts? There really arent many places it can leak. As for the bleeding, you are pumping the pedal 3-4 times, holding it down and then having someone else open the bleeder screw and then tightening it back up before you release the pedal right? Are there air bubbles coming out with the fluid or are you getting straight fluid? You might want to try a vaccum bleeder (you might be able to rent one from autozone or advance) if you still cant get a good pedal. Its such a simple process though that if you still cant get a good pedal then try a new master cylinder. Also make sure that your line isnt kinked anywhere.

p.s. keep in mind that your clutch pedal wont feel like a brake pedal. You will get some resistance but it wont get real hard like the brakes. Just stating the obvious, I now I've overlooked things enough times that it never hurts to be reminded of the basics.

I've had a similar problem once before, there was air trapped in the lines and wouldn't let fluid in. I disconnected the line at the fire wall where it is at its highest elevation and opened the bleeder and injected the fluid into the lines. I used a rubber vacuum hose and a syncromesh bottle. I put the hose on the end of the bottle and the other on the line and squeezed the fluid into the lines until it comes out of the bleeder on the slave cylinder. Once the lines were full of fluid and not air the clutch primed after a few pumps.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm bleeding it correctly, not really seeing any leaks on the firewall or the master cylinder, I do get bubbles out with the fluid when I bleed it though, sometimes it just shoots fluid like a well bled clutch but then it just goes back to bubbly fluids.

Master cylinder fluid leaks are often seen above the clutch pedal. Have you looked there?

A guy I know put a new master and clutch cylinder on, as well as a new hose, and it wouldn't prime. After disconnecting the hose and pumping it a couple times, it got fluid moving and it primed easily after that.

Definitely check what Ron said first. Doing everything else is useless if you have a leak.

Basically getting pressure in the lines and your clutch actually working.

I meant to say bled. It was late and I had been up a long time, that's when I make spelling and grammar errors. I can't even blame alcohol since I pay even closer attention when having a drink.
