Default how do you put freon back in on an ek?

well, I did oem manual to automatic window and change the dash and all that mambo jumbo. Now, Im without ac and here in south florida.... its not good! freaking rosting myself on traffic everyday. So, I was wondering how is it that you put back in the freon for your ac? a friend of mine told me to go to an discount auto part and buy 2 cans of freon and a can of oil, first to put in the can of oil and then the 2 cans of freon... and that I would need to buy a took kit to do it. how true is that and where the hell do I have to plug things so I can put the freon in.

thanks to all those help in the matter. pics would be good too.

Its simple you drive to a shop and have them do it for you. Those do it yourself recharge kits arent designed to refill a completely drained system.

You should have the system checked out by an a/c shop. To properly fill, it has to be drained of outside air and a negative pressure drawn on it. Pay the bucks since r-134 isnt really that expensive. A 40 degree a/c unit in Fla is well worth any amount of $$.

Yes, but how are you going to get the air in the system out? It needs a vacumn drawn on it to create a negative air pressure inside the system and then properly filled. Humid air destroys the dessicant.
